Supplementary Skills Training

The Construction Training Fund continues to support the efficiency and competitiveness of the Western Australian building and construction industry by supporting the training of a skilled workforce.

Funding is available to reduce training costs, helping businesses and employees to develop and enhance the skills that are required by a growing, contemporary industry.

The Construction Training Fund can meet up to 80% of the costs of a wide range of approved short training courses. The two areas of industry training courses supported by the Fund through its Supplementary Skills Program are

  • Construction Skills - courses designed to develop, maintain or enhance skills relevant to working in the building and construction industry and
  • Industry Skills – courses that meet the broader training needs of the industry in areas such as communication, tenders, small business management and supervisory skills.

All courses supported by the Fund are delivered by qualified training personnel through Registered Training Organisations.

The range of Construction Skills Courses and Industry Skills Courses subsidised by the Fund is reviewed and updated regularly. This information is also available on our Downloads page.

Individuals and/or employers seeking Supplementary Skills subsidies need to submit the appropriate claim form and information to the Construction Training Fund with all claims.
