School to Work Transition

The Construction Training Fund supports programs to increase community understanding about the exciting and rewarding career opportunities in the building and construction industry.

The One Industry - No Limits careers promotion program established by the Fund in 2004 provides students, parents, educators and the wider community with information about starting and developing a career in the building and construction industry.

The nolimits.com.au website contains profiles of industry careers, interviews with current industry workers from apprentices to corporate leaders, information about training and links to other relevant sites.

Pre-Apprenticeship Scholarship
A scholarship of $250 will be paid to students who successfully complete a pre-apprenticeship course in an approved building and construction trade.

VET in Schools – Structured Workplace Learning
Schools that enrol students in a relevant building and construction courses with work placements can apply to the Construction Training Fund for funding to provide mentor support, safety training and equipment to assist students in their work placement.

Try-A-Trade¹
To provide young people with an insight into some of the building trades, the Construction Training Fund in association with TAFEWA and other Registered Training Organisations will subsidise Try-A-Trade courses at designated venues in metropolitan and regional areas. The courses will provide students in Years 9 and/or 10 with a taste of up to four different building trades.
